The funny – Rusty Old Car

Boo is now 3 where did that time go? She now loves to skip around in a horse style gallop, loves to jump and is good at climbing!

She also loves to sing!

Her favourites are

  • Old MacDonald
  • Twinkle Twinkle
  • Baa baa black sheep

Of course being a toddler the correct words are not always said correctly…

One of her best recently has been Mary had a little lamb.

Usual words for those unsure are;

Mary had a little lamb,

It’s fleece was as white as snow;

And everywhere that Mary went

The lamb was sure to go.

However at no point in the normal rhyme does it suggest the lamb was dangerous!! Boo however thinks this is the correct version changing “it’s fleece was as white as snow”to “it’s dangerous!”

Another recent funny is a song they sing at nursery using the rhyme of twinkle twinkle (neither my husband or I had heard this version and had to Google it – it appears to be sang often in nurseries)!

Twinkle twinkle chocolate bar,
My dad drives a rusty old car,
Turn the handle, pull the choke,
And off we go in a puff of smoke,
Twinkle, twinkle, chocolate bar,
My dad drives a rusty old car.

Boo can only remember the first couple of lines before it returns to the usual twinkle twinkle however she can’t pronounce rusty and currently sings quite loudly

Twinkle twinkle chocolate bar,
My dad drives a Ruddy old car! It’s not helped by her pronunciation of twinkle twinkle which she pronounces as “finkle finkle”!

As much as I know she needs corrected with her pronunciation I just don’t have the heart to correct finkle finkle it’s just too cute and a sign that she’s still very young there’s many years to come where the correct words will be used until then I will enjoy her versions of the songs.
